Description:

During this learning experience, children from Pottsville Preschool embarked on a sensory walk into the bush observing what they could see, hear, feel, touch and sense. This opportunity to be immersed within and deeply attuned to the natural world was powerful for the children, and their excitement and enthusiasm as they located goannas, kookaburras, lizards and many more animals was infectious. Through this sensorial learning experience the children developed a sense of place, learned about the histories and cultures of their local environment, as well as developed their understandings around seasons, animal tracking, food sources, habitat, sleeping patterns of local animals and needs of living things.
